I think patience and a keen eye for detail really pays a lot in making artworks like these. By the end of the day (weeks or months) you can look at your work and say, "Well, aren't you a beauty?" or "Did I really do this?"
I get that feeling a lot. I begin with the sketch then I lay down some flat shading and I know that if I look at it in full view I'm going to be disappointed. But if I keep my head down and just go through it bit-by-bit I'll eventually look at the whole thing and surprise myself. There is a point where my artwork looks super-ugly. I just have to suck it up and keep going.
I'm glad you like it. It is still by far one of my most detailed painting yet. I doubt I will ever get into that kind of a mode again even if I tried. It felt wrong not to include a W.I.P after the hell I went through
Thanks again! It took quite a few months. Mainly because I didn't have time to do it in one go. I can't even work out how many hours it took. I stopped counting a long time ago. I'd say about 3-4 months.
I had no idea when I'd get it done. For a while I even gave up trying. Took an extended break from it all. But every time I thought to myself "Ive come this far so I may as well see it off till the end" and like that it was complete.
Ohh and lots of music. Music helped keep my concentration !
That's exactly what I meant to say in my last reply. It's especially encouraging to hear compliments from someone with amazing artwork like yours (not to say I'm not grateful for comments from everyone else either )
And you don't have to worry about the stalking. I've been doing the same thing with your gallery too. The only reason I commented on 1 deviation and not 5 was because I didn't want to look too stalkerish. So stalk away. You can't be worse than me lol..
Btw* I'm harmless too so don't be creeped out lol.
You are one heck of an artist to get that detailed, with such amazing attention to lighting and *just* the lineart is absolutely amazing by itself; please tell me you used textures for some parts like clothes, etc? D: T_T
Wow its quite a compliment being compared to Alector Fencer. I guess I just put in a lot more effort into this painting than any other one of mine since I'm a HUUUUGE fan of the Assassin's Creed series so I felt I could only do the series justice by painting the best damned painting I've ever made !
